How can I ask for a delay statement?

In short: reach out to the airline with which you booked πŸ˜‰


cargo.one facilitates your booking with the airline, but ultimately the airline ✈️ is responsible for the transport and they are the ones who can tell you exactly what happened.


Unfortunately, cargo.one does not get involved at all in the shipment's transit and can therefore not provide a delay statement or explain the root cause of a delay 😿.

In case shipments 🚚 get delayed, airlines will, in most instances, try to accommodate the shipment on the next available uplift. If this is not possible, the airline ✈️ will reach out to the booking agent directly to follow up on the next steps.

How does it work?

Firstly, before reaching out to the airline about a delay it is important to:

  1. verify if the shipment was actually delivered to the airline on time.

  2. always have the POD (Proof of Delivery) at hand when requesting a statement from the airline, so you can attach it to your email for them.

  3. check the shipment on the airline's tracking website, to verify if it is indeed delayed and/or rebooked. All links to the tracking websites can be found here.

American Airlines Cargo

AFKLM Cargo

A new feature on the AFKLM Cargo website allows downloading a delay statement 24/7 for the requested booking.

  2. log into your MyCargo account

  3. search for the AWB

  4. request a PDF delay statement
